The Bengals have crawled their way out of the abyss and are now 5-5 and only one game behind the Pittsburgh Steelers for the wildcard spot in the AFC. They will look to continue their surge to get over .500 once again when they host the Oakland Raiders at 1:00pm EST today. The Oakland Raiders will be without their star running back, Darren McFadden, but so far this season he has been a major disappointment and Marcel Reece may be the better option for them anyways.
The Bengals have been firing on all cylinders on both offense and defense in their past two games when they annihilated both the Giants and Chiefs. They will look to continue their recent dominance today against the Oakland Raiders. The Raiders have been hot and cold all season, so although they are 3-7, they can’t be taken lightly.
The Bengals will be looking to make a late season surge to make the playoffs for the second season in row, and fortunately for them, they will get another chance against Pittsburgh, and have four games against teams with losing records before their December 23rd date with the Steelers.
The biggest challenge in today’s game will be stopping Reece and putting pressure on Carson Palmer. Palmer has had success with his speedy receivers when he has had time in the pocket, but when pressured he hasn’t looked too great. And he will likely be trying to get some revenge against the Bengals, his former team, so the Bengals will need to be in his face the entire game.
