The Bengals travel to Jacksonville to wrap up the first month of their season. They are looking to improve on their 2-1 record and should do so playing the Jags. Not to down play the Jags because as we have seen you cannot over look any team in this league but, the Bengals should win this game.
The Jaguars have one of the worst run defenses in the league which should play right into the Bengals hands. The Bengals are developing a passing game that is extremely difficult to stop and if you also cannot stop the run you are in for a long day. Expect a heavy dose of Green-Ellis this afternoon against a defense that allows 154 rushing yards per game.
If Jacksonville cannot slow down the run, Dalton is going to have a field day. The Jaguars defense has no one in their secondary to slow down the dynamic duo of Dalton and AJ Green. Another player to watch today is Jermaine Gresham. Gresham has not really broke out yet this season but with a weak linebacker core expect Dalton to target him often.
Defensively the Bengals have to stop Maurice Jones-Drew. After missing training camp while holding out Jones-Drew has not missed a beat. The problem with the Jags offense is not the run game, it is the lack of a consistent passing game. Because of this the Bengals are going to be able to stack the box and hopefully keep Jones-Drew from beating them.
Jacksonville could hang around in this but I expect Cincinnati to be able to close it out late. Bengals 31-17.
